Photography for Stay-at-home Heroes
Another fun thing to do at home with your camera (and extension tubes) as we go through the 3rd week of the quarantine.
Setup Time: 3 minutes
1. Iphone flashlight
3. Colorful backgrounds (e.g. Postcards)
4. Oil + water in glass container
1. Use Macro Lens or a regular lens with an extension tube
2. ISO 1600
4. Shutter Speed 1/200s
Extension tubes allow you to shoot macro photography by getting extremely close to your subjects. They are good replacements for macro lenses.
Good extension tubes range from just $40-$100. The brands that I love are Kenko (~$100), Meike (~$50) and Fotodiox (~$40).
Macro photography is super fun because it makes mundane objects look great! It is also a mind-comforting photography exercise to do at home during the quarantine (which has been extended).
Common subjects for macro photography include fruits, vegetables, flowers, bugs and water droplets.
