The teens had such a great time learning and photographing together during summer camps—now it’s time to reunite and head outdoors again

November is a wonderful time to explore the Baylands: Migrating sandpipers use the marsh as a rest stop on their journey south, while many others arrive and settle in for the winter. Willets are also a familiar presence, and students may hear their distinctive calls before they even spot them.

During this hands-on outdoor photography class, students will learn to observe, anticipate and react like wildlife photographers—watching how birds move, noticing behavior, finding beautiful light and waiting for the moment that turns a simple sighting into a photograph they’re proud of.

This class is taught by Christina.

Along the way, Christina will guide students through the camera techniques while also helping them develop patience, observation, timing, and awareness—skills that are just as important in bird photography as knowing the camera.
