Winter Photography Summit 2025
This short, urban-landscape-focused workshop is designed for photographers who want to capture postcard-worthy urban landscapes of San Francisco without overextending themselves during the holidays.
While San Francisco offers at least 20 iconic, photo-worthy locations covered across our various workshops, this experience intentionally focuses on just two legendary spots: Ina Coolbrith Park for late afternoon urban landscapes, and the Golden Gate Bridge for sunset and long-exposure photography.
Scheduled right after Christmas, this workshop takes advantage of post-rain winter conditions, which often bring dramatic clouds, cleaner air, and beautiful light—ideal for cityscape photography.
An optional, free editing session is offered the following day for attendees who wish to join. Attendance is optional, but participants must arrive on time, as there is no makeup class for the editing portion.
Equipment is not provided. Participants should bring their own camera, a sturdy tripod, and two lenses (one wide/medium and one telephoto).
The class is only offered on December 18th 2025, timed to take advantage of the potential light and cloud conditions following a week of holiday rain. Chances are that there may be very few attendees, so you’ll benefit from more personalized guidance.

What Will You Learn In This Workshop?
1. Golden Gate Bridge Sunset Photography
- ND & GND Filters are not needed
- Attendees will need to bring their own equipment and camera tripods (budget friendly).
- For tripods, sturdiness is key — heavier options provide better stability. If your budget allows, I highly recommend investing in this model so your camera stays steady even in strong wind.
- Recommended focal lengths for the Golden Gate Bridge: 70mm-100mm (equivalent).
2. Urban Landscape Photography
- Recommended focal length for Ina Coolbrith Park cityscape shots: 35mm-70mm (equivalent).
- Recommended focal lengths for Sutro Tower: 200-300mmmm (equivalent).
